Iran, Russia study educational cooperation

Resumen: En una reunión en Moscú, el ministro de Educación iraní Ali-Asghar Fani y Presidente del Comité de Educación del Estado Duma Vyacheslav Nikonov discutieron las formas de cooperación educativa.

In a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday Iranian Education Minister Ali-Asghar Fani and Chairman of the Education Committee of State Duma Vyacheslav Nikonov discussed ways for educational cooperation.

As Iran and Russia are strengthening ties it is essential for both countries’ educational bodies to expand relations as well, Fani said.

Fani called for joint competitions between students of both countries, saying it will help strengthen relations, Tasnim news agency reported.

Nikonov said both countries’ relations are now evolving and therefore a development of educational ties and cooperation is of primary importance for Russia. He further voiced Duma’s support for such cooperation.

Fani arrived in Moscow on Tuesday to take part in an international exhibition on education.

According to the Iranian embassy in Moscow, the minister was also scheduled to meet Russian Minister of Science and Education Dmitri Livanov.
