Two of The Gambia’s highest learning institutions, the University of The Gambia (UTG) and The Gambia College were both on Tuesday deferred by the Joint Session of the Public Accounts and Public Enterprises Committees (PAC/PEC) on conditions that all their arrears of audited accounts be presented to the committee.
The two institutions led by their different senior managements were asked by PAC/PEC to work on their different outstanding Annual Activity Reports and Financial Statements to be presented in the next session, which starts in September 2016.
«We are currently dealing with audited financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2014. We appreciate that you have made efforts to do this submission and we also recognise that over the years, Gambia College had no independent management as you were under the supervisory management of the University of The Gambia. We have agreed that we let you go by rescheduling you to the next session,»
Majority Leader and NAM for SK East, Hon. Fabakary Tombong Jatta who chaired the session told Gambia College.
He further stated that this joint session of PAC/PEC rescheduled the UTG on reasons and on conditions that all arrears of their accounts are presented come the next session of PAC/PEC.
