India: Haryana to introduce moral education subject in schools

RESUMEN: Gobierno de Haryana ha preparado el plan de estudios en colaboración con las organizaciones sociales y educadores. El ministro de Educación Haryana Ram Bilas Sharma dijo que hoy la educación moral se incluirá en el plan de estudios para los estudiantes de la clase VI a 12 y se pondrá en marcha el tema. «Toda religión se centra en la formación del carácter, extractos de textos religiosos como el Bhagavad Gita, el Corán, la Biblia y Guru Granth Sahib se han incorporado en el plan de estudios de la asignatura,» dijo.
El tema será lanzado formalmente en un programa el 5 de julio en la Universidad de Kurukshetra, dijo un funcionario, después de una reunión presidida por el Ministro con oficiales superiores de Educación y departamentos afines con respecto a los preparativos para el programa.

Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma today said moral education will be included in the curriculum for the students of Class VI to 12 and the subject will be launched.

“All religion focuses on character building, extracts from religious texts like Bhagavad Gita, Quran, Bible and Guru Granth Sahib have been incorporated in the curriculum of the subject,” he said.

Haryana government has prepared the curriculum in collaboration with social organisations and educationists, he added.

The subject will be formally launched at a programme on July 5 at Kurukshetra University, an official said, after a meeting chaired by the Minister with senior officers of Education and allied departments regarding preparations for the programme.
